news: partnership with napier university

A ‘Knowledge Transfer Partnership’ enables companies of any size to access additional scientific, engineering or management knowledge and expertise from universities and research organisations and to import new techniques and technologies into their businesses.

Action Scaffolding Contracts Ltd. has recently began a 'Knowledge Transfer Partnership' with Edinburgh Napier University. As regulations are tightening, scaffold design drawings and calculations are required more often than not. The KTP seeks to address this by embedding engineering expertise in the company. A KTP Associate will lead the project, working on a day to day basis in the company's main offices in Edinburgh, gaining practical scaffold construction guidance from the company's experienced staff and engineering expertise from colleagues at the university. One of the main outcomes of the KTP is the development of bespoke software to streamline the process of generating design drawings and calculations.

With in-house engineering capability, the company will be able to sustain their current growth in the scaffolding industry. Enabling faster response times for projects which require design and facilitating the company to undertake more technically challenging projects.
